Sharon is a human resources professional who enjoys sharing simple recipes that make mealtime deliciously easy! I discovered this marinade recipe many years ago. I kept it because it is so tasty and the marinade goes especially well with the New York strip steak. New York strip is delicious grilled, but when you prepare it with a tasty marinade it turns out amazing.

This beautiful marinade adds an exquisite flavor to these already tender steaks. The final result will be so tender and juicy, it will melt in your mouth. In a medium bowl, mix the vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, honey, olive oil, ground black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, liquid smoke, and cayenne pepper. Place steaks in a shallow glass dish with the marinade, and turn to coat. For optimum flavor, rub the liquid into the meat.
Serve grilled strip steak with sauteed asparagus and oven-roasted fingerling potatoes for a homespun take on chophouse fare. Place steaks in a large, shallow, nonreactive dish. Slice 3 scallions into thin rounds, and combine with the remaining ingredients except the salt in a small bowl; whisk to combine.
